The Claremont bus facility will be the first and largest station on the Metro-South East Corridor.
As a high-volume interchange, the planned Claremont MyCiTi bus station has been identified as a focus for artworks, with multiple large-scale artwork opportunities for the internal and external walls, a prominent curved glass facade and possible sculptural elements.
‘This is an exciting opportunity for artists to showcase their creativity, while celebrating Claremont’s history and enhancing the look of the area. Artists will be required to describe their proposed concept and provide preliminary design ideas that outline the main idea and visual approach.
Artists are requested to share online links to previous work. The call is open to South African residents and artist collectives.
