Today, the vibrant tech landscape of Cape Town took centre stage as the Invest Cape Town Youth in Tech Showcase, in collaboration with UVU Africa, illuminated the innovative spirit of the city's young tech entrepreneurs.

In a celebration marking Youth Month, Alderman James Vos, the Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, hailed the event as a gathering of dynamic minds, where youthful innovators shared their journeys, forged connections and unleashed their creativity.
UVU Africa, a pivotal player in Cape Town's tech ecosystem, joined forces with the City to compose this landmark event, spotlighting the remarkable achievements of three outstanding entrepreneurs:
· Lesego Finger, the visionary Chief Technology Officer and Co-founder of Matric Live, whose gamified learning platform has revolutionised high school education, reaching and impacting countless lives.
· Mandisa Makubalo, trailblazing Founder and CEO of The Unlimited Experiences SA Group Consulting Firm, empowering enterprises with strategic growth frameworks while championing township-based entrepreneurs through initiatives like The South African Black Women Think Tank.
· Lunga Momoza, the entrepreneurial force behind Basket E-commerce, connecting farmers with local communities and driving economic empowerment. Winner of UVU Africa’s Township Tech category, Momoza's venture has not only transformed local commerce but also created employment opportunities for over 15 young individuals.
‘It's truly inspiring to witness these young trailblazers tackling uniquely South African challenges with innovation and determination. We are proud to champion initiatives like this one hosted by UVU Africa, driving the growth of our tech ecosystem and empowering the next generation of leaders.
‘In line with our commitment to fostering tech talent, I am pleased to announce that our department will continue to fund UVU Africa as the City's tech special purpose vehicle. This investment aims to equip more Capetonians with skills in software development, coding, and programming, ensuring they are well-prepared to thrive in the digital age,’ said Alderman Vos.
The showcase also featured a dynamic panel discussion, where these tech luminaries shared insights and experiences with fellow entrepreneurs.
As a testament to their excellence, the City announced that these visionary entrepreneurs would become recipients of the Invest Cape Town Youth in Tech Promotional Partnership. This partnership will amplify their presence across Invest Cape Town platforms and selected events supported by the Economic Growth Directorate, ensuring their continued impact and success in the dynamic world of technology.
