The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate wants to inform the public of intended roadworks along Park Road into Campground Road in Rondebosch. This project forms part of the City’s regular maintenance to prolong the longevity of its road network. The work starts today, 7 May 2024, until Sunday, 30 June 2024, from 08:00 to 17:00 and from 19:30 until 05:30 on weekdays only. Read more below:
The roadworks entail the resurfacing of Park Road as well as the construction of a left-turn lane where this road intersects with Campground Road.
Kerb and paving work will also be done on the section that runs past Rustenburg Girls High - on the median and southbound carriageway of Park Road.
‘The addition of a left-turn lane will lead to improved traffic flow and alleviate congestion in this area particularly during parents’ school-run hours. We would like to thank road users for their patience in this infrastructure-led project to improve the road network. Residents can expect a level of dust and noise during the course of the work,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.
